AN ORDINANCE _~. AMENDING ORDINANCE ~2~.6 GOVERNING
AND REGULATING THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES
AND OTHER TRAFFIC ON THE ROADS AND HIGHWAYS OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, AND PROVIDING A
PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES, OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
WITH SUCH ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, conditions exist on the roads and highways
of the City of Boynton Beach which creates a hazard to both
pedestrians and motorists, and
W~EREAS, the said condition does greatly endanger
the lives and property-of the citizens of the City of Boynton
Beach, the said City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, does
hereby declare this ordinance an emergency ordinance as follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,.FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.: The provisions of Chapter 317 Florida
Statutes 1955 as now in force and effect, except where in-
consistent with this ordinance and with parent ordinance
~216, shall govern the operation of motor vehicles of the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida.
SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person using,
operating or driving motor vehicle upon or over the roads or
highways of the City of Boynton Beach, upon approaching any
school bus used in transporting school pupils to or from
~hool, while such bus in stopped~upon the roads or highways
of the said City, is required to bring such motor vehicle to a
full stop before passing such school bus; provided that such
bus is properly identified by being painted a u.nifo~n color
as approved by the said Board of Education with the words,
"School Bus" on front and back in b~ack letters. If a stop
signal which meets standard requirements prescribed by the said
Board is displayed, from the bus, said signal shall be due
wa~ning to the driver of any approaching vehicle that children
may be on the highway and such vehicle shall not pass the school
bus until the school bus signal has been withdrawn.
~ECTION ~. SEPARABILITY
Each of the provisions of this Ordinance are in-
separable including word, clause, phrase or sentence and if any
provision shall be declared invali4, the remaining portion shall
not be effected but shall remain in force and effect.

SECTION 4- REPEALING PROVISIONS.
Ail ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. PE___NALTIES.
Any person, firm or corporation convicted of the
violation of any of the terms or provisions of this ordinance
may be fined in a sum not to exceed $$00.00 or may be im-
prisoned for not more than ninety (90) days, or may be both
fined and imprisoned within the discretion of the TRial
Court.
S_~E~CTION 6. FINDING OF E¥~ERGENCY
This Ordinance is passed as an emergency measure, and
the Council does~ by the vote by which this ordinance zs passed,
hereby declare that an emergency exists, which makes it im-
perative that this ordinance Lshould become effective forthwith.
