I. Call to Order — Stephanie Colaianni, Chair
In the absence of Chair Stephanie Colaianni, Joel Barsky, acted as Chair, and called he
meeting to order at 6:03 P.M.
Roll was called. A quorum was present.
Il. Approval of Minutes — October 2024
Motion
Ms. Newton moved to approve the minutes. Ms. Hunter seconded the motion. The motion
passed unanimously.

III. Correspondence and Communications
Tiffany Pagan, Assistant Library Director, said that she included adult, teen and youth
flyers for the quarter and a quarterly program guide in the meeting materials. She thanked
Tiffany Marshall, Marketing and Outreach Manager, for creating the guide.
Chair Barsky liked the information and asked where it was displayed.
Ms. Pagan responded that they coordinated with the City's Marketing Team, and the
flyers were placed on a Library shelf with other library flyers and in other locations
throughout the City. She stated that it is not on the website, but she will ask if a digital

version could be posted with the digital calendar. She also mentioned, in reference to
registering for Library activities, that staff was attempting to set up a reminder system for
those who register for a class, because often patrons would register several weeks out
from the activity, and then forget that they registered for it. She advised that they are now
using Patron Point and that it was a tough implementation, but they are now up and
running.

V. Chair's Report — Board Chair
There was no report given.
Mr. Barsky complimented the Library on a paper documents display.
`1. Unfinished Business:
Staffing update
Ms. Pagan explainedthat they have two vacancies: a Senior Librarian for Youth Services,
and for a Part -Time Library Assistant. She said that the Senior Librarian position has
been posted for a while and that they received some applications, but was waiting for
Human Resources to schedule interviews. She stated that they will interview for the Part -
Time Library Assistant position this Friday, and that once both positions are filled, the
Library will be fully staffed.
Career Online High School Program Update — Tiffany Pagan
Ms. Pagan reported that the program had 30 graduates and there are five students
currently in the program. She explained that there are scholarships available for
individuals 19 years old and up, that are City residents, who are Library cardholders.
VII. New Business
Introduction of Brian Reagh, Librarian - Digital Services and Makerspace
Ms. Pagan introduced Brian Reagh, the Digital Librarian that runs the Makers Space.
Mr. Reagh introduced himself and said that he handles the Makers Space/Creative Edge
Studio and he explained what it is. He said that the mission in the future is to create a
space with tools and technology which may not be economically available for the public
to obtain, and that the goal is for the public to use it free of charge if they have their own
materials. He advised that there is a high demand to use the equipment.

He stated that the Library has held two orientations so far, and he explained how patrons
can sign up through the website, attend orientation and then are shown how to use the
equipment. He mentioned that that they also have sewing and embroidery machines
There was brief discussion about biographies and book displays, as well as what is
available to the blind.
Fiscal Year 2024 — 2025 Library Budget
Ms. Pagan submitted a copy of the annual budget, and she reviewed it and the staffing
levels.
VIII. Library Director's Report/Statistics
Ms. Newton inquired about student criteria to enroll in the Career Online High School and
if the students have to be documented US citizens, as policies may potentially change.
Ms. Pagan explained that the only stipulation is that the student be a City resident,
because they are using City funds to enroll in the program. She mentioned that if using
State funds, the resident can live elsewhere in the County, but there are no State funds
that are available at the moment. She also responded that the student needs a Library
Card and proof of address, and that the Library does not ask if someone is a US citizen
in order to obtain a Library Card.
IX. November 2024 and December 2024 Monthly Reports
There was brief discussion regarding the monthly reports.
X. Announcements
Next Library Board Meeting — February 26, 2025
Chair Barsky announced the date of the next meeting.
Motion
Ms. Hunter moved to adjourn. Ms. Newton seconded the motion. The motion passed
unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:36 P.M.
