Social Media Goal - Fall 2025
Increase awareness and engagement with underused digital library platforms—
Mometrix, Learning Express, and Gale—through targeted content and
educational outreach. The goal is to boost usage by 20% over the next quarter
by spotlighting these resources on social media and hosting pop-up
livestreams on Facebook and Instagram to showcase their value and ease of
use.

ARCHIVES ACTIVITIES
Submitted by: Jacob Rabinowitz
Archives Monthly Report – August
· Finished digitizing Palm Beach County city directories (1918–1980s)
from microfilm.
· Started uploading directories to archives’ website for public access
· With this, likely completed digitizing all archival microfilm holdings
(yay!)
· Reference/research requests steady as ever:
More Boynton Beach Elementary alumni diving into yearbooks +
other collections (mostly nostalgia-driven, but that’s still research!
)
Continued work with Los Mangos HOA on property lines/aerial
photos
Regular stream of historical photo requests; digitizing on-demand
items to knock out two birds at once
Filling in gaps at the research desk as needed, when needed!
· Began assembling new exhibit (replacing recipe one) featuring early
20th-century tourism materials + postcards
· Continuing processing donations/acquisitions into collections (at the
moment working on Miss Gillian’s dance school materials, postcard
collection, etc.)
· Ongoing re-housing of older processed archival materials into current
preservation standards (acid-free, buffered, boxed, etc.)
· Updating finding aids, accession records, and general documentation
for better access + consistency (the glamorous side of archives work)

CREATIVE EDGE STUDIO
Submitted by: Brian Reagh
In August, we welcomed 8 new patrons through studio orientations, helping
them get started with all the tools and resources a vailable. Our Intro to Cricut
class was a hit, drawing a strong turnout and lots of enthusiasm from
participants.
Quest Club is proving to be a real success, with bo th sessions fully booked
and new players continuing to sign up. We also team ed up with City Hall to
edit and print headshots for the City Council plaqu e in the lobby.
Our most popular type of project this month was sub limation. We worked with
several patrons to scan and reprint their artwork a nd photos, giving them the
chance to preserve and share their creative project s. They were then able to
transfer their art onto objects such as mugs and t-shirts. Overall, it was a busy
and exciting month that showcased both the creative and practical sides of
the Studio

PUBLIC TECHNOLOGYTRAINING PROGRAMS
Submitted by: Brianna Tabil
Tech Talk Thursdays:
10:30a – 11:30a
Join us every Thursday by the couches at the front of the library where we will discuss
technology and how to use that tech. This class will be a brief 60-minute chat along
with instructions on how to use different technologies.
AUGUST AGENDA:
· August 7th – Let’s Chat AI
· August 14th – Understanding Facebooks Terms and Policies
· August 21st – Password Managers
· August 28th – How to Spot a Scam
Let’s Chat AI is still one of my most popular topics. This is the second month I did the
first Thursday as AI day. Password Managers is another hot topic. A lot of attendees
have been expressing more interest in learning how to keep their data safer. The next
series of Tech Talks in Q4 will have more technology security.
11 One-on-ones:
I am still enjoying having people register themselves, it gives them an opportunity to
determine if a 1:1 tech appointment is what they need. I have updated the registration
form so they there is an acknowledgement at the end where they must agree to bring
any passwords they might need. I have had to end two sessions early because they
didn’t have their passwords with them. The acknowledgement now says that they
agree to bring the passwords or we will have to reschedule.

I am still wondering if it’s possible to make one of the questions in the registration form
to require a certain number of characters. I’ve noticed that someone can bypass the
library card # just by typing anything.
Other notes: Q4’s schedule has been completed and will be added to LibCal later today
(9/4/2025).
