List of Potential Partnerships for 2026
Here is a breakdown of potential partnerships by department and how they fit into the
Senior Advisory Board's classification matrix. Formalizing partnerships with these
departments can allow the Senior Advisory Board to support & leverage allocated funds
and amplify programs.
1. The Boynton Beach City Library
• Strategic Pillar: Technology& Digital Literacy/ Health &Wellness
• Why Partner:The library is already the city's hub for digital inclusion. They likely
have "Tech Mentors" or existing contracts with digital literacy educators.
• Specific Partnership Ideas:
o Host Venue: Use their computer labs for the "Technology Seminars" so you
don't have to rent laptops.
o Content Expert: Ask their "Archives" or"Local History" librarian to give a talk
as part of a cultural event.
o Accessibility: Collaborate on promoting their "Talking Books" service for
visually impaired seniors.
2. Boynton Beach Fire Rescue (BBFR)
• Strategic Pillar: Health, Wellness & Life Skills (Safety Focus)
• Why Partner:They have a vested interest in preventing senior falls and medical
emergencies before they happen.
• Specific Partnership Ideas:
o "Vial of Life" Program: Partner to distribute these life-saving kits (medical
info stored in the fridge for paramedics) at your events.
o Fall Prevention Workshops: Have a Public Information Officer (PIO)speak
at a healthcare seminar about "Fall-proofing your home."
o Emergency Access Program: Promote their registry where seniors can
provide door codes/hidden key locations to dispatchers so forced entry isn't
needed during a 911 call.
3. Boynton Beach Police Department(BBPD)
• Strategic Pillar: Life Skills /Safety
• Why Partner: Senior fraud and safety are major concerns for law enforcement.
• Specific Partnership Ideas:
o Fraud & Scam Seminars: The Community Policing Unit often has
presentations ready on "Grandparent Scams," IRS imposter scams, and
cybersecurity.
o S.A.L.T. Council(Seniors And Law Enforcement Together): If this doesn't
exist yet, the Board could propose starting this advisory group.
4. Utilities Department
• Strategic Pillar: Housing& Infrastructure
• Why Partner: Utility bills are often a senior's largest volatile expense.
• Specific Partnership Ideas:
o Conservation Audits: Organize a program where the city provides free
water/energy audits specifically for low-income seniors to help lower their
bills.
o Bill Assistance Awareness: Collaborate to ensure seniors know about city
or county programs (like LIHEAP)that assist with utility payments during
financial hardship.
5. Public Works / Sustainability
• Strategic Pillar: City Services Support
• Why Partner:They manage the physical environment seniors navigate daily.
• Specific Partnership Ideas:
o "Backdoor"Trash Service: Ensure seniors know about any "hardship"
services where city staff collect bins from the house for those physically
unable to drag them to the curb.
o Sidewalk Audits: Create a "Senior Walkability"volunteer event where
seniors report cracked sidewalks or poor lighting directly to Public Works.
6. Planning&Zoning
• Strategic Pillar:Affordable Senior Housing/Transportation
• Why Partner:They hold the long-term vision for the city's layout.
• Specific Partnership Ideas:
o ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) Education: Host a seminar on the rules for
building"Granny Flats" or mother-in-law suites, which is a huge topic in
affordable senior housing.
o Transit-Oriented Development: Invite a planner to explain how future city
projects will improve access to bus stops or rail lines.
