MInutes 11-12-25MINUTES OF THE ART ADVISORY BOARD MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2025 IN CITY HALL COMMISSION CHAMBERS 100 E. OCEAN AVENUE, BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA PRESENT: Susan Froehlich Margaret Roberts Margaret Newton Robin Kurtzman ABSENT: Moses Breion Johann Zehenter Mikaela McLaughlin Karina Maldonado 1. Call to Order Gabe Sevigny, Principal Planner John Stout, Planner II Leticia Sabio, Planner I Ms. Roberts sat as Chair and called the meeting to order at 6:35 P.M. 2. Pledge of Allegiance The members recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 3. Roll Call Roll call was taken. A quorum was present. 4. Approval of Agenda Motion Ms. Froehlich moved to approve. Ms. Newton seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 5. Informational items from the Board 6. Approval of Minutes A. Approval of Minutes Approve minutes from the September 30, 2025, Art Advisory Board Meeting Meeting Minutes Art Advisory Board Boynton Beach, Florida November 12, 2025 Motion Ms. Froehlich moved to approve the minutes. Motion duly seconded and unanimously passed. 7. Public Audience Individual speakers will be limited to 3 minutes. There were none 8. Action Items 9. Unfinished Business A. Transforming Traffic Boxes into Public Art Mr. Stout explained that staff had received the Board's scores for all of the 170 viable artist submissions and the Board will now assign locations for the 35 selected art pieces. He noted that some of the artists had requested locations for their art, but assigning those artworks to them was not mandatory and that the Board can make other recommendations. After lengthy discussion, the Board made the attached recommendations. Mr. Stout advised that at the next meeting, staff will bring the list back to the Board for final approval. 10. New Business A. Appoint Chair and Vice Chair Mr. Stout stated that the Board Members must vote to appoint a Chair and Vice Chair for the Art Advisory Board, which the City Commission will then ratify. Motion Ms. Froehlich moved to nominate Ms. Kurtzman as Chair. Ms. Newton seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Motion Ms. Froehlich moved to nominate Ms. Roberts as Vice Chair. Ms. Newton seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. K Meeting Minutes Art Advisory Board Boynton Beach, Florida November 12, 2025 11. Future Agenda Mr. Stout stated that the next meeting is December 10th and staff will bring additional items and an introduction to Future Forms, who is the consultant handling the Art Master Plan, and will present an item to decommission art that is damaged beyond repair. 12. Adjournment There being no further business to discuss, there was consensus to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 8 P.M.
