I. Call to Order
Chair Wilkinson called the meeting to order at 6:03 PM.
II. Pledge of Allegiance
Sherri Claude, Board Liaison
The members recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, followed by a moment of silent
reflection.
III. Roll Call
The Minutes Specialist called the roll. A quorum was present.
IV. Approval of Agenda
Motion
Mr. Camacho moved to approve the agenda. Ms. Watson seconded the motion. The
motion passed unanimously.
V. Approval of Minutes - July 22, 2025
Chair Wilkinson stated that Megan Wilkinson's name is spelled "Meghan" and Kristopher
Kenney's" last name is Kenny.

Motion
Mr. Kenny moved to approve the minutes as amended. Ms. Watson seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously.
VI. Announcements/informational Items
Sherri Claude, Board Liaison, announced that the City is hosting a Senior Prom on Friday,
September 12th from 6 to 9 P.M. at the Woman's Club. Tickets are $10 for residents, $15
for non-residents and registration is open. Several members agreed to volunteer and
assist with the Senior Prom.
She also announced that on Sunday, October 12th, the Recreation and Parks Department
is offering a trip to attend the LA Chargers and the Dolphins football game, which includes
the game ticket and transportation to and from the game and tailgate food. She said that
the bus can accommodate 54 people.
Ms. Watson requested flyers.
(Ms. Carter arrived at 6:07 P.M.)
Ms. Watson spoke about The Club, an assisted living facility, and said that they are
always looking for volunteers. She noted some of the Girl Scout Cadets received their
Silver Award by planting a patio garden with herbs and vegetables the chef could cook
with some of the residents, and that some of the veterans completed a Veterans Wall,
with some of the Girl Scouts assisting.

VIII. Unfinished Business
A. Youth Symposium
Chair Wilkinson noted they had asked Frank Ireland to attend the meeting to speak about
the Symposium Event, but he was not available and he was invited to attend the next
meeting. She noted that the Symposium is usually held in April, but no date was set yet
for next year. She explained that the Board wanted to hold a similar event and then
learned about the Youth Symposium and they decided to partner.

B. Fundraising & Outreach
Chair Wilkinson commented that the Board had made a donation to Men of Vision and
Purpose for student transportation services. She suggested having a check presentation
with the Greater Boynton Foundation, who also made a donation to them.
Ms. Carter explained that she was hosting a private event on October 26th, and that she
would like to replenish the $1,500 donation the Board made to Men of Vision and Purpose.
Chair Wilkinson suggested that they make the check presentation at a City Commission
meeting.
Ms. Carter commented that Men of Vision and Purpose should agree to make a
presentation on the use of the funds.
Ms. Claude explained how to make the donation.
Ms. Watson commented that there are many organizations that like to do things for youth.
She said that the Woman's Club has scholarships on their own, and they are always
looking to do something for youth, and they would likely partner with the Board for a
fundraiser.
IX. New Business
None.
X. Future Meeting Dates: September 23, October 28
Chair Wilkinson noted that September 23rd is Rosh Hashanah and she asked if the
members wanted to hold a meeting. The members agreed to meet.
Chair Wilkinson also noted that the meetings used to be held on the fourth Thursday of
the month and the Board usually combined the November and December meetings, but
now the meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday. She asked if they want to hold a
meeting in November or combine the November and December meetings as they always
have.
The members decided to combine the meetings.
Ms. Claude will check the calendar and bring back dates.
Ms. Watson asked if the Board was going to do anything in November for
food/schools/etc. or partner with another organization. She said that she sits on the

Board of Community Promise and has a Girl Scout Troop. She noted that they do all
kinds of events and drives. She wanted to know how the Board could get more involved
with youth.
Mr. Jean asked if the City has giveaways.
Chair Wilkinson noted that the City holds a Fall Festival and the Board tried to get their
name out over the last few years, unsuccessfully. It was noted the Fall Festival was
scheduled for Saturday October 11th from 3 to 6 PM.
Ms. Watson said it is helpful to have a table at the event.
Chair Wilkinson announced the Board's previous fundraising efforts and liked the idea of
having a philanthropic arm around Thanksgiving. She thought it may be better to help
with someone else's effort.
Ms. Carter asked if the Board had any materials about the Board.
Chair Wilkinson said that the Board has brochures and she requested Ms. Claude bring
some for Ms. Carter. She commented that the brochure contained information on the
fundraising they have conducted.
XI. Adjournment
Motion
Mr. Kenny moved to adjourn. Ms. Watson seconded the motion. The motion passed
unanimously.
