The request is to spend 21 $200,000 annually for this service; and 22 WHEREAS, this purchase will be procured through the piggyback exemption of the 23 purchasing policy. Piggyback contracts significantly benefit the City of Boynton Beach by 24 providing a cost-effective and efficient way to procure goods and services. By leveraging 25 agreements already in place with other governmental entities, the City can avoid the time- 26 consuming and expensive process of issuing its own competitive bids. This allows quicker access 27 to needed resources while often securing more favorable pricing due to the economies of scale 28 achieved through larger contracts. Additionally, piggybacking ensures the City can tap into pre- 29 vetted vendors that have already been thoroughly evaluated, reducing administrative burdens 30 and vendor-selection risks. Ultimately, piggyback contracts streamline procurement, save taxpayer 31 money, and improve the efficiency of City operations; and RESOLUTION NO. R26.0C1(4) 32 WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon the recommendation of staff, has deemed it in the 33 best interests of the City's citizens and residents to approve the purchase of annual licenses, 34 maintenance, and support from Global Technology Solutions Inc., the provider of the City's 35 Genesys call center solution, in an amount not to exceed $200,000 annually. 36 37 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON 38 BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 39 SECTION 1.
