A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH~
FLORIDA~ AMENDING SECTION 2 OF RULE XI OF
THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF CIVIL SERVICE
TO PROVIDE FOR THE OBSERVANCE OF VETERAN,S
DAY AS A HOLIDAY ON NOVEMBER llTH OF EA~
YEAR.
WHEREAS~ the Municipal Personnel Officer has heretofore
recommended a certain amendment to Section 2 of Rule XI of the
current Rules and Regulations of Civil Service to provide for
the observance of Veteran's Day as a holiday on November llth
of each year; and
WHEREAS~ the City Manager has heretofore reviewed said
proposed amendment and has approved it without modification; and
W-6EREAS~ after thorough review of such proposed amendment,
the City Council deems that the enactment and adoption of same
is in the best interests of efficient administration of the
municipal personnel system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF' BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the provisions of Section 2 of Rule XI of
the currently existing Rules and Regulations of Civil Service
of the City of Boynton Beach~ Florida~ be and the same are hereby
amended to read:
"SECTION 2. LEGAL HOLIDAYS: Legal Holidays to be
observed by the employees of the City of Boynton Beach~
unless such employees are required to be on regular duty~
are:
New Year's Day
Washington's Birthday
Memor ia 1 Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Columbus Day
Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Eve Day
Christmas Day
January 1
Third Monday in Februa
Last Monday in May
July 4
First Monday in Se
2nd Monday in October
November 11
4th Thursday in Now
December 24
December 25
Legal Holidays may also include such other days as may
be designated by the City Council from time ~to time. When a
holiday falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the following Monday
or preceding Friday as the City Manager may elect shall be
declared a holiday for City employees."
.Section 2: In all other respects subject Rules and Regula-
tions of Civil Service are hereby ratified and confirmed as
heretofore adopted and amended.
