RESOLUTION NO. R 09 -14 a-.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSING OF FEDERAL HIGHWAY ON DECEMBER 5,
2009, FOR THE ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARADE AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS
DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR STATE PERMITS FOR
THE TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSING; PROVIDING
FOR EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach's annual Holiday Parade is scheduled to be
eld on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide for the safety of the participants and citizens
tending the Holiday Parade, Federal Highway will be required to be closed from Boynton
each Boulevard south to Woolbright Road beginning at 2:30 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation requires the local government
authorize all temporary road closures on state roadways; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach desires to authorize
e temporary closing of Federal Highway from Boynton Beach Boulevard south to
oolbright Road on December 5, 2009, to provide for the safety of the participants and
'tizens attending the Holiday Parade; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager is authorized to apply for the permit for temporary
osing of state roads for special events, pursuant to Chapter 14-65, Florida Administrative
ode, for said temporary closings;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
HE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section I.
The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are true and correct and
ereby ratified and confirmed by the City Commission
Section 2.
That the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach authorizes the
mporary closing of Federal Highway from Boynton Beach Boulevard south to Woolbright
oad commencing at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday December 5, 2009, for the annual Holiday
arade.

Section 3.
The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for permits from the

That this Resolution will become effective immediately upon passage.
