meeting
Hi Dan,
Here are some highlights of the year:
1) Our per round sales average is holding steady. While we hoped for a growing per
person, I am pleased with response we have received.
2) Our beverage cart sales on Saturday and Sunday have almost doubled. While not
consistently where we want it, there is an uptick in sales.
3) Our Wednesday night league was a rousing success. We featured a special once a week
and hope to get them back again.
4) Our Thursday Night Scramble, while small, was a success in our eyes. We had happy
golfers, a musician and a dinner for golfers in a fun atmosphere.
5) From listening to our golfers, we have introduced new items this last year. They
include:
· Potato salad
· Salads with choices of meats
· Egg Salad
. Tomato Blossom with hardboiled eggs and chicken salad
· BBQ Pork Sandwich
6) Items to be added in the next month:
· Ham/cheese grilled sandwich
· Pancakes and/or french toast with bacon
· Our "Zegg"- a fried egg sandwich with cheese and horseradish sauce.
7) Promos we are looking to offer this year:
· Once a week pancake breakfast at a very low price on Wednesday (or Monday if you
choose so)
· Golfer Appreciation Dinner -once a quarter.

golfers who typically haven't come by to meet us.
· A monthly special geared specifically to the Family Course golfers.
Our caterer will come in and offer a
We will not charge any
We feel this will be a way to get
8) REC Golf- while working with our other company, Innovative Leisure, Inc. we are going
to introduce REC Golf-a fun approach to get new golfers onto the course. Using the family
course and putting green, we will play games to introduce kids and their parents to the
game. Innovative Leisure, Inc. ran a nationally recognized soccer program for the Town of
Lantana and we will be using the same approach. Play will happen at the end of the day,
during the summer so both parents and kids can be there together. Play will be
progressive based on age and abilities but there are no tournaments, standings, leagues,
etc. With both an Elementary and Middle school next door, they will be our primary market
to begin with.
Hope that is enough?
Terry

GOLF ADVISORY BOARD NOTES
Golf Maintenance
Scott Wahlin, CGCS
January 2~, 2011
Slide 1: Introduction
Slide 2: Good summer regarding GeM. We concentrated primarily on conditioning
(mowing and aerification). We also resurfaced the Family Greens and completed
irrigation updates.
Slide 3: The first step in resurfacing the FG was to spray glyphosate.
Slide 4: This is what they look like after two apps of glyphosate.
Slide 5: Sprig bed preparation - open up surface
Slide 6: Basamid was applied at 530#/A and incorporated into the soil using irrigation.
An irrigation regimen was utilized over the next 72 hours to keep the fumigant in the
soil.
Slide 7: Sprigging was done at 40 bushels per M.
Slide 8: Eight weeks after sprigging they were open for play.
Slide 9: Adjustable heads were added to the greens. Another 150 heads were either
repaired or replaced. We have 563 total.
Slide 10: Last year we eliminated one FTE part-time position. This is 2080 labor hours
no longer available to us. We have had to make a number of changes over the years.
Slide 11: This April I will have been with the city for ten years. Let's see how the budget
has changed in that time. (refer to slide)
Slide 12: Operating Expenses (refer to slide)
Slide 13: Overall GCM Budget (refer to slide)
Slide 14: Another cost cutting measure was to patch cart paths. (Discuss EZ Street)
Slide 15: It's an uphill battle.
