AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING PART II, CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE V,
SECTIONS 2-72 THROUGH 2-91 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES; AMENDING PART II, CHAPTER
15, ARTICLE I, SECTIONS 15-8.7, 15-16,
15-88, AND 15-100; AMENDING PART II,
CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE VI, SECTION 26-305;
AMENDING PART III, CHAPTER 23, ARTICLE
I, SECTION 6; PROVIDING THAT THE " CODE
ENFORCEMENT BOARD" IS TO BE KNOWN AS
THE CODE COMPLIANCE BOARD; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION
AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the goal of Code Enforcement under Chapter
163, Florida Statutes, is compliance with municipal and
county codes and ordinances; and
W~EREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach has determined that it is in the best interests of the
public to change the name of the Code Enforcement Board to
the Code Compliance Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, T~AT:
Section 1. That Part II, Chapter 2, Article V,
sections 2-72 through 2-91 are hereby amended, by replacing
the term "Code Enforcement Board" where the term appears
throughout Article V, with the term "Code Compliance
Board."
Section 2 That Part II, Chapter 15, Article I,
Sections 15-8.7, 15-16, 15-88, and 15-100 are hereby
amended, by replacing the term "Code Enforcement Board"
where the term appears throughout Chapter 15, with the term
~ Code Compliance Board."
Section 3. That Part II, Chapter 26, Article VI,
Section 26-305 is hereby amended, by replacing the term
"Code Enforcement Board" where the term appears in Section
26-305, with the term ~ Code Compliance Board."
Section 4. That Part III, Chapter 23, Article I,
Section 6 is hereby amended, by replacing the term ~ Code
Enforcement Board" where the term appears throughout
Section 6, with t'he term "Code Compliance Board."
Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 6. Should any section or provision of this
ordinance or portion hereof, any paragraph, sentence or word
be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of
this ordinance.
