AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSIO~ OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLO/RIDA,
AMENDING PART II, CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE VI,
SECTION 2-106 OF THE CODE OF Og~INANCES
TO ADD SUBSECTIONS (12) ~D (13),
PROVIDING ADDITIONAL DUTIES, POWERS,
AUTHORITY, AND FUNCTION OF THE
COMMUNITY RELATIONS BOARD; ~ FOR
CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY CODIFICATION
AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Sec. 2-106. Duties.
(12) The board shall assist the elderly in:
(a setting up a retired senior volunteer
program known as RSVP to provide

services for the homebound;
(b) seeking federal and state grants to
provide for services;
(c) monitor and lobby for legislation
regarding the elderly;
(d) make arrangements for the medical mobile
unit already in operation in Palm Beach
County to bring it to the City of

Boynton Beach;
provide a pamphlet of available programs
to seniors;
(f) provide a speakers bureau, workshops and
educational meetings on topics of

interest for seniors;
recommend free legal programs and
banking services for the homebound; and
(h) provide recreation and social, programs.
13) The board shall periodically advise the city
commission of its findings with respect to
the issues set forth in subsection (12)
above, and shall make recommendations to the
city commission on any matter referred to it
within thirty (30) days or within such time
as prescribed by- the
specific resolution.

Section 2. Ail ordinances or parts of ordinances in

Section 3. Should any section or provision of this
ordinance or portion hereof, any paragraph, sentence or word
be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of
this ordinance.
