AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, RESCINDING
ORDINANCE NO. 097-07, PASSED ON MARCH 4,
1997, IN ITS ENTIRETY, THEREBY AMENDING CHAPTER
2 OF CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH BY DELETING ARTICLE X, SECTIONS
2-148 THROUGH 2-153, PROVIDING FOR
ABOLISHMENT OF THE VISIONS 20/20
IMPLEMENTATION TASK FORCE, RESERVING SAID
SECTIONS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS,
SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION AND AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is necessary to
increase efficiency in city government and reduce the overlap that exists among
city boards with respect to functions and duties; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that the devotion,
excellent service and recommendations of the Visions 20/20 Implementation Task
Force well-served the City of Boynton Beach in assisting in the selection of a
consultant; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has found that the Visions 20/20
Implementation Task Force is no longer required as an advisory board to the City
Commission, so as to warrant the abolition of the Visions 20/20 Implementation
Task Force; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has deemed it to be in the best interests of
the residents of the City to rescind the ordinance creating the Visions 20/20
Implementation Task Force, thereby abolishing the Visions 20/20 Implementation
Task Force.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 097-07, passed on March 4, 1997, is
hereby rescinded in its entirety, thereby amending Chapter 2 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida by deleting Article X.
Visions 20/20 Implementation Task Force, Sections 2-148 through 2-1§3,
in its entirety, providing for the abolishment of the Visions 20/20
ilmplementation Task Force, and reserving said Sections 2-148 through 2-
Section 2. Each and every other provision of Chapter 2 not herein
specifically amended shall remain in full force and effect as previously enacted.
Section 3. Al~ ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be
and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 4. Should any section or provision of this ordinance or portion
hereof, any paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a court of competent
jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the remainder of this
ordinance.
Section 5. Authority is hereby granted to codify said ordinance.
Section 6. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
passage.
