A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
REQUESTING INCLUSION OF THE WIDENING OF
HYPOLUXO ROAD BETWEEN LAWRENCE ROAD AND
CONGRESS AVENUE IN THE PALM BEACH COUNTY
FIVE (5) YEAR ROAD CONSTRUCTION PLAN;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, desires that arterial highways serving the residents
of and visitors to the City be developed to function
efficiently and effectively; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is committed to assuring
that improvements to arterial roadways within and adjacent
to the City are completed in a timely and logical pattern;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to participate in
the prioritization scheduled roadway improvements within and
adjacent to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has taken the initiative
of improving the roadway system in the northwest portion of
the City by requiring the developer of the Knollwood Groves
PUD to complete the construction of both Minor Road and
Meadows Boulevard between Congress Avenue and Lawrence Road;
WHERF2%S, Palm Beach County is ~c~r~renttyexpanding
Hypoluxo Road to six (6) lanes between Congress Avenue and
1-95; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has required the developer
of the Knollwood Groves PUD to make the total amount of
required traffic impact fees for the project available by
November of 1990 (less credits for Minor Road construction),
such funds expected to exceed $500,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Commission request Palm Beach County
Board of County Commissioners to place the widening of
Hypoluxo Road to six (6) lanes, between Lawrence Road and
Congress Avenue, on the County Five (5) Year Road
Construction Plan, also requesting that construction of this
roadway link be scheduled for fiscal year 1991-1992.
